Electronic Arts has announced that it intends to release fourteen new games during the next fiscal year (through to March 2021) with four of them confirmed as sports games.
Also coming are mobile games, indie stuff, some new IP, and “an additional EA HD title.” The latter entry there had people talking about what game is getting an HD remaster by the company.
VentureBeat’s Jeff Grubb has since claim to have solved it, saying it’s an HD remaster of BioWare’s popular “Mass Effect” sci-fi and action game series. The report is unverified at present, but with the franchise having been rested in the wake of misfire that was “Mass Effect: Andromeda,” a remaster makes sense to keep the franchise alive.
The franchise launched in 2007 and 2010’s “Mass Effect 2” remains one of the most critically acclaimed games of all time. 2012’s “Mass Effect 3” however boasted an ending which infuriated fans and led to Bioware doing a minor reboot of the series with ‘Andromeda’. What was hoped would save the franchise ended up burying it… at least for now.
