Miles Morales gets something of a glow-up in new fan art that imagines what the hero would look like as an older man for Into the Spider-Verse 2
New fan art imagines what an older Miles Morales would look like in Spider-Man: Into the Spider Verse 2. Comic book fans were already well-acquainted with Miles, the Afro-Latino teenager who becomes Spider-Man after the death of Peter Parker, when he made his big screen debut in 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. For years, some had called for Miles to be the next cinematic Spider-Man following Sony’s decision to abandon their plans for Andrew Garfield’s version of the character. However, when the Marvel Cinematic Universe added the beloved web-slinger to their ranks, he turned out to be another version of Peter played by Tom Holland. Still, Spider-Man: Homecoming referenced Miles’ existence, and a year later, the animated Miles arrived on screen.
Into the Spider-Verse is now widely considered to be one of the best superhero movies in recent years, and perhaps of all time. Praised for its unique animation style and creative take on the expansive Spider-Verse, Into the Spider-Verse left the door open for a sequel, which was already in development before the film was even released. Now, nearly two years later, fans are still eagerly awaiting Into the Spider-Verse 2, which is scheduled for October 2022. In other words, they’ll have to wait a bit longer to see Miles again.
